Introduction
Parano1d (NOID) is a proof-native Layer 1 blockchain that combines Proof of Work, recursive cryptographic proofs, zero-knowledge authorization, and a live UTXO State. The network is designed to let nodes verify the current State without replaying the entire blockchain history from genesis.
NOID is the native cryptocurrency of Parano1d. The network uses Poseidon2b for Proof of Work and core cryptographic operations, while its signatureless ownership model uses zero-knowledge proofs to demonstrate control of funds without exposing the underlying spending secret.
Project Background
Parano1d is designed around a proof-native architecture in which the current blockchain State carries a recursive proof of its valid ancestry. Instead of requiring a new node to replay historical transactions from genesis, a node can authenticate the live UTXO State using its terminal proof and a recent block suffix.
The network uses Proof of Work to establish canonical ordering among already-proven State transitions. Miners construct and prove the complete transaction and State transition before searching for a valid nonce. Poseidon2b is used for the Proof of Work digest and throughout the network's cryptographic proof stack.
Parano1d uses signatureless ownership. A wallet begins with 256 bits of secret entropy rather than a conventional public-private keypair. When spending, the wallet generates a zero-knowledge proof demonstrating knowledge of the secret without placing the secret or a public-key signature on the network.
The blockchain maintains a live sparse UTXO State. When an output is spent, its State slot becomes available for reuse, allowing storage requirements to follow the active set of live outputs rather than the total historical transaction count.
Transactions use PagedSpend, allowing multiple physical transaction pages to form one logical atomic transaction. The protocol also provides portable proof-of-payment receipts, which allow payment information to be independently verified against the canonical chain without requiring the historical block body to remain available.
Parano1d's proof system combines wallet authorization, transaction execution, State transitions, recursive history, and Proof of Work into a shared cryptographic stack. The project documents a post-quantum security model based on NIST Category 1 resource assumptions.
History
Parano1d mainnet launched on August 13, 2026 at 08:00 UTC. The first mainnet block was accepted shortly after launch, with the network initially operating under the v1.0 protocol. The project subsequently moved to v1.1 through a consensus activation at block 95,125.
The initial network used a 20-second target block interval, ASERT difficulty adjustment, a live UTXO State, recursive HistoryStep proofs, and Poseidon2b Proof of Work. The original emission system tied reward reductions to expansion of the live State domain.
Parano1d's development subsequently introduced improvements to State synchronization, proof verification, transaction capacity, mining, networking, and wallet infrastructure. The project also developed native desktop software combining a wallet with a private full node, along with separate command-line tools for node operators and miners.
The project is now preparing its V2 protocol upgrade at mainnet block 210,537. V2 introduces a new time-based issuance model, proof-native contracts, expanded block classes, updated Proof of Work timing, and additional improvements to State and proof handling.
The published V2 activation estimate is October 11, 2026 at 06:59 UTC, but activation is determined by reaching block 210,537 rather than by a calendar timestamp. Until that block is reached, the existing v1.1 rules remain active.
Tokenomics and Emissions
NOID does not have a fixed maximum supply. Under the current v1.1 rules, the block reward is linked to the live State level, beginning at 50 NOID and decreasing as the State domain expands, with a minimum reward of 1 NOID.
The current v1.1 network targets 20-second blocks. During the three-year development allocation, 90% of newly issued block rewards are assigned to the miner and 10% are allocated to development. After the allocation period ends, the full block reward is assigned to the miner.
Transaction fees include a base transaction component, per-input and per-output components, and a State-growth component for net-new live slots. The State-growth portion is burned, while the remaining claimable fee components are available to miners.
V2 replaces the State-expansion-based monetary clock with a height-based issuance schedule. Beginning at block 210,537, the gross subsidy is scheduled at 16, 11.30, 8, 5.65, 4, 2.83, 2, 1.41, and finally 1 NOID per block. Each scheduled tier lasts 1,051,200 blocks, and the 1 NOID tail continues indefinitely.
V2 also separates monetary issuance from State occupancy. The block height determines the subsidy, while live State occupancy determines the cost of creating new persistent State through the State-growth fee. Existing balances are not rescaled by the transition to V2.
Roadmap
Parano1d's roadmap is centered on expanding its proof-native architecture from payments into programmable spending rights, while improving the efficiency and accessibility of the underlying Layer 1.
The V2 upgrade is the next major protocol milestone. It introduces proof-native contracts that allow live UTXO outputs to commit to programs, spending authorities, and persistent counters. Contract execution is incorporated into the same recursive proof system used to validate ordinary transactions.
V2 also introduces Small and Large block classes, with both supporting up to 504 live inputs and 63 contract calls. Large blocks can be enabled by producing nodes when additional payment capacity is useful, while every node remains capable of verifying both block classes.
Future development includes continued work on the proof stack, State synchronization, wallet software, mining infrastructure, JSON-RPC APIs, contract tooling, and developer resources. The project is also researching additional privacy and proof capabilities as part of its broader proof-native architecture.
Parano1d's development process includes ongoing protocol research covering recursive proving, Live State, decentralization, mining, wallet authorization, proof systems, binary-field cryptography, and post-quantum soundness.
