Soqucoin ($SOQ) has been listed on SafeTrade!
SafeTrade is excited to welcome Soqucoin (SOQ), a Proof-of-Work Layer 1 blockchain built around post-quantum cryptography, Scrypt mining, and native ML-DSA-44 digital signatures.
Soqucoin is designed to address the long-term security challenges that quantum computing could pose to conventional blockchain signatures. Its protocol uses ML-DSA-44, also known as Dilithium, a lattice-based digital signature scheme standardized under NIST FIPS 204. By integrating post-quantum signatures into its transaction architecture, Soqucoin aims to provide quantum-resistant transaction authorization without relying on a future migration away from conventional elliptic-curve signatures.
What Makes It Different?
Soqucoin combines post-quantum transaction security with an established Proof-of-Work mining model. The network uses Scrypt, the same mining algorithm used by Litecoin and Dogecoin, alongside a UTXO-based transaction architecture. Its support for Auxiliary Proof-of-Work (AuxPoW) enables compatible mining infrastructure to contribute work to the Soqucoin network alongside supported parent chains.
Built around this architecture, Soqucoin features:
- Scrypt Proof-of-Work consensus
- Native ML-DSA-44 (Dilithium) digital signatures
- The NIST FIPS 204 standardized post-quantum signature scheme
- Post-quantum transaction authorization designed into the protocol from genesis
- A UTXO-based transaction architecture
- AuxPoW merge mining support for compatible Litecoin and Dogecoin mining infrastructure
- Practical Attestation Technique (PAT) for batch signature attestation
- An approximately 60-second target block time
- Open-source software released under the MIT license
- No premine or developer tax, according to the project's published distribution model
- An initial block reward of 100,000 SOQ per block
- Scheduled reward reductions at blocks 250,000, 500,000, and 750,000
- A perpetual block reward of 2,500 SOQ beginning at block 1,000,000
Soqucoin takes a different approach to blockchain security by making post-quantum signatures a core part of its transaction model. ML-DSA-44 is designed to resist known classical and quantum attacks against the mathematical problems underlying conventional digital signatures. However, overall blockchain security also depends on correct implementation, network security, mining participation, and wallet protection.
The project's mining model uses Scrypt Proof-of-Work and AuxPoW, allowing compatible miners to contribute work to multiple chains without requiring additional hashing for each supported chain. At mainnet launch, the project identifies SOQUPOOL as its supported mining option, with additional pool integrations and solo mining support to be announced when available.
Soqucoin's emission schedule begins at 100,000 SOQ per block and decreases through four initial reward eras before reaching a perpetual reward of 2,500 SOQ per block. The network has no fixed maximum supply, with ongoing tail emission intended to continue rewarding miners over time.
With its combination of post-quantum transaction signatures, Scrypt mining, and an open-source UTXO architecture, Soqucoin brings a distinct security-focused approach to the Proof-of-Work ecosystem.
